NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join in the position of Manager, Accounting based in our Daytona Beach, Florida office.

The Accounting Manager leads month-end close and certain compliance processes related to accounts payable.

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Month-end close responsibilities include expense accruals, prepaid expense recognition, and account reconciliations.   Ensures the AP team meets financial deadlines for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Responsible for the development and execution of the year-end accrual process.
  • Develop variance explanations for assigned balance sheet accounts.
  • Responsible for development and management of compliance processes for 1099, backup withholding, 1042, W2G, unclaimed property, state tax withholding, and sales and use tax as well as the review of all compliance forms.
  • Research returned payments and execute a resolution.
  • Support and develop ongoing training for employees/departments on spend categories.
  • Develop new processes and technology related to the accounts payable function.
  • Coordinate with procurement and other departments to ensure that purchasing policies are adhered to and that documentation is complete.
  • Oversee and/or prepare information requests from external auditors, tax group, financial reporting, and other stakeholders.
  • Other projects and/or duties as assigned.

Required Skills /Experience

  • Bachelor's degree; and a minimum of three years' experience in the required job responsibilities; must  demonstrate strong accounting, leadership, technology, and process improvement skills. 
  •  Proficient in generally accepted accounting principles and application
  • Solution oriented, strong analytical reasoning skills
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical journals, tax compliance guidelines, financial reports, and legal documents.  
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.  Skilled in providing training sessions and presentations
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products with advanced knowledge of Excel required.          
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Demonstrate ability to define and manage process improvements
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • A positive attitude and work ethic.  This position will be required to work overtime as needed, to meet the objectives of the position and the department.
