Over the last five years, the Company has focused on a strategic plan that calls for it to become a regional property & casualty insurer and has transitioned away from its affinity-based membership model. NJM now offers its various products to businesses across New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland, Delaware, and Connecticut.

 

The Financial Planning and Analysis team (BP&A - Business Planning and Analysis is the official NJM name of the department) supports the growth of NJM's business and delivers impactful analysis to drive business decisions and strategy. BP&A partners with the business to develop and advance strategy, keep leadership informed of projected and actual performance, and analyze trends and business initiatives. BP&A supports the Company's strategic planning process and provides targeted support for strategic projects and development initiatives, including business case documents and cost-benefit analysis.​

 

The BP&A team is seeking a Senior Business Planning and Analysis Analyst who will play will play a key role in the company's forecasting and budgeting process. This role will report to the Administrator, Business Planning and Analysis and will demonstrate skills in financial planning, analysis, and reporting. The candidate will participate in a range of analytical and data analysis activities which will enhance departmental understanding of financial and operational results, leading to increased efficiencies and revenue opportunities, as well as lower operational expense levels.

·         This is a hybrid Role which allows working from home 2 days per week (this may vary during the training period).

·         Review and assist in monthly forecasting of financial statements

·         Generate monthly and quarterly reporting

·         Assist in the preparation of annual budgets for business leaders

·         Prepare detailed business analysis and provide opportunities and solutions for the business

·         Develop cost benefit analysis to assess potential opportunities

·         Create dashboards and ad hoc reports to support business operations

·         Build strong interdepartmental relationships and maintain open lines of communication

·         Conduct presentations as required to support the business leaders

·         Review financial results with business leaders, providing insights into results relative to expectations

·         Prepare analysis of industry data and trends

 

Required Qualifications:

·         5+ years of Financial or Business Planning and Analysis experience, preferably in the Property and Casualty Insurance industry

·         Bachelor's degree is required (preferred in Accounting, Finance, mathematics, or other related degree); MBA is a plus

·         Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities

·         High level of intellectual curiosity

·         Ability to drive strategic direction and take initiative

·         Ability to translate performance of business from various data sources

·         Effective communicator (verbal and written)

·         Demonstrated innovative thinking

·         Strong attention to detail

·         Desire to work collaboratively in a team environment

Compensation: Salary is commensurate with experience and credentials.

Pay Range: $86,020-$108,498

Eligible full-time employees receive a competitive Total Rewards package, including but not limited to a 401(k) with employer match up to 8% and additional service-based contributions, Health, Dental, and Vision insurance, Life and Disability coverage, generous PTO, Paid Sick Leave, and paid parental leave in addition to state-mandated leave.
