Position Title:  Strategic Marketing Manager

Department Name:   Marketing

Position Reports To:  VP of Marketing

What does No Jingles or Mascots mean to you?  Join the company that puts policyholders first and doesn't need the tropes of jingles or mascots to tell our 110+ year story of service excellence.  We're looking for a dynamic leader to join an established team of marketing and data experts to help bring our strategic thinking to the next level.  We are looking for someone to bring us from data collectors and analysts to data synthesizers and strategists. 

Based in our suburban West Trenton (Ewing Township), New Jersey corporate office, this strategic leadership position will report to the Vice President of Marketing, be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the department, and have direct accountability for NJM enterprise growth goals.  This individual must possess a strong mindset and demonstrated skillset for data led decision making and should have financial services experience, ideally a P&C background. This candidate will have experience in insights analysis, BI tools, marketing mix modelling, life-time value and general ROI analysis and be able to translate these finding to sound marketing strategy.  The ideal candidate comes from a financial services/insurance background and is highly comfortable with data and has a keen sense for translating their experience and data findings into sound marketing strategy.

Compensation for this position is likely to fall in the $140,000 to $175,000 pay range based upon relevant experience and credentials. The position also includes a potential annual incentive opportunity (12%) and a generous benefits package, including: Blue Cross Blue Shield health insurance, a 401k with a dollar for dollar match up to 8% with immediate vesting, tuition reimbursement, a highly competitive PTO plan, and much more!

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic planning and execution
    • Develop marketing strategies that align with our business objectives and value proposition.  
    • General leadership and team management skills.
       
  • Data Led Decision Making
    • Utilize various data sets to identify trends and opportunities for profitable growth.
    • Manipulating and interpreting complex and interacting data sets inclusive of web, apps, email, direct mail, CDP, media and more. 
    • This individual should use their existing experience with marketing mix models, LTV's as well as Multi touch attribution disciplines and tools to make strategic marketing decisions.
       
  • Cross Functional Collaboration
    • Work closely with other departments and stakeholders to ensure cohesive marketing efforts support the various business units goals and value propositions.
    • Understanding and managing business process for a modern marketing organization including internal and 3rd party agency partners is critical.
       
  • Digital Marketing and Performance Measurement
    • This individual will take their foundational digital marketing proficiency for all things SEO, PPC, social media, email marketing and content marketing and connect it to effectiveness metrics to ultimately optimize strategies on an ongoing basis.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Financial Services/Insurance Industry background is strongly preferred
  • Analytical, data first thinking
  • Demonstrated knowledge of MMM, CDP, MTA and LTV applications as well as 3rd party providers supporting these initiatives
  • Consumer behavior and competitive landscape knowledge
  • Adaptability, especially as it relates to data sources and reporting
  • Creative problem solving
  • Project Management comfort
  • Adobe Workfront background a plus

Education and Experience:

  • College Degree Required in a marketing/advertising, data or communications role
  • Advanced degree or marketing data/digital marketing specific certifications are preferred (Google Analytics etc..)
