Description

The Systems Administrator, Associate is responsible for assisting with administering and support of Enterprise packaged solutions. From initial planning through delivery and post production support, assist team members with; validation and alignment of business requirements from a technical perspective into working solutions, solution installation / maintenance, supporting implementation of solutions, ensuring they work collaboratively with other business applications, operational support, and building understanding through team consultation to ensure accuracy of solutions according to service level agreements.

This is a technical role that will participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle including analysis, design, development, testing phases. This role includes building technical expertise through team consultation and project integration, establishing an understanding of Enterprise packaged software functions and capabilities, and learning how these solutions are implemented at NJM. To be effective in this role the candidate must understand the architecture of the solution and the infrastructure it utilizes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Technical Skills - Requirements/Technical Analysis: Understands software requirements. Assist with determining impact to configurations based on requirements. Participates in impact analysis of technical notifications, product upgrades, hot fixes, and service packs.  Estimation: Understands estimation methodology. Provides inputs to estimates for assignments.  Administration & Configuration: With guidance from senior System Admins, administers / configures Enterprise Products and supports installations (with guidance.) Documents configurations.  Infrastructure: works with appropriate IT Staff to help determine appropriate solution infrastructure and creates specifications for all environments (with guidance.)  Testing: working with senior staff members, assists with stress and regression testing and participates in creation of test plans for Enterprise Products.  Deployments: creates deployment plans (with guidance).
  • Quality: Produces deliverables, such as documents, diagrams, code, administration, configuration, and deployment plans and test plans. Completes assignments within time estimates. Maintains documentation on product architecture, infrastructure, installation / configuration and deployments.
  • Customer Support & Troubleshooting: assist in the investigation and resolution of incidents. Works with senior team members in the resolution of incidents and problems. Demonstrates urgency in resolving production outages. Interacts with Vendor technical support as needed to resolve incidents and problems.
  • Operations & Maintenance:  Manage and support production and non-production environments. Assist with the support of necessary functions involved with maintenance, recovery and growth of the systems including coordination with the appropriate support teams involved in the successful daily operation of the systems. Assists in testing disaster recovery procedures.
  • Processes and Vendor Relationship: Understands and follows the SDLC. Understands and follows best practices and standards. Understands and follows processes related to support and use of Enterprise Products. Maintains an understanding of NJM's current licensing and in use technical components / modules.
  • Continuous Improvement & Product Knowledge: Establish and build technical and professional skills and knowledge through continuous learning. Seeks mentoring from senior team members. Learns from artifact review sessions. Consistently demonstrates a positive and supportive approach towards change. Develops an in-depth knowledge of an Enterprise Product and its associated modules through training, guidance from other team members, participation in product user groups and self-study.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • Familiar with software development life cycle which includes design of solutions using sound architecture concepts, configuration of applications, writing and execution of use cases and test plans, and the delivery of software solutions.
  • Experience in Enterprise Content Management (ECM), Customer Communications Management (CCM), and / or Document Archiving and Imaging, and their corresponding software implementations (e.g. OnBase, Kofax, Inspire, etc.), is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and to multitask, handling multiple concurrent projects and priorities.
  • Strong communication, analytical, design and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiar with IIS, Windows Server Environment, SQL Server Database, XML, Web Services, WebSphere, Tomcat, and Middleware technologies.

Compensation: Salary is commensurate with experience and credentials.

Pay Range: $73,944-$85,946
