Description
The Licensed Vocational Nurse is responsible for providing direct patient care and acting as a patient liaison in support of Medical Oncology Department. Duties include:
- Provides direct patient care according per organizational policies and procedures.
- Prepares patient for provider including vital signs and collection of clinical data.
- Administers medications to patients, including, oral, injections, IV's and nebulizer treatments as ordered by provider.
- Assists provider and/or performs procedures in assigned area within scope of practice.
- Assists in the patient navigation for both inpatient/outpatient services and works closely with members of the clinic to ensure that patient is receiving appropriate services.

Qualifications
Education:
- Completion of accredited LVN Program.
Licensure/Certifications:
- Current California LVN license.
- IV certified, or obtains IV certification within 60 days of hire.
- Current AHA or equivalent certification in CPR required.
Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
- One year's experience in ambulatory care setting preferred.
- Oncology experience preferred
- Bilingual preferred.
- Demonstrated effective time management skills.
- Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skill in providing ambulatory nursing care as appropriate for patients in the following age groups: Geriatric, Adult.
Work Hours:
- Total Hours: At least four (4) shifts each month, or more as determined by the department's per diem availability standard and process
- Shift: 8-hour shifts
- 10% per diem differential included in salary range
