Description

At NorthBay Health the C/T Technologist performs general radiographic studies, according to established Q.A. criteria.  Scans and organizes images, completes required paper work and charges.  Responsible for patient safety and well-being during examinations.  Assists and instructs patients during examinations.  Performs bedside radiography.  Assists with clerical duties.  Cleans and inspects equipment prior to use.  Reports equipment malfunctions.

Qualifications

Job Duties

  1. Performs CT examinations in accordance to established protocols.
  2. Assists and instructs patients prior and during examinations.
  3. Responsible for evaluating each study to ensure it meets required quality standards.
  4. Responsible for patient safety and well-being during examinations.
  5. Responsible for inspecting and cleaning equipment prior to use.
  6. Reports to radiology supervisor all equipment failures and/or malfunctions.
  7. Reports all patient complaints, discrepancies and drug reactions according to Q.A. policies.
  8. Responsible for processing images, organizing paper work and completing charges. 
  9. Works in other areas of the department such as radiology, ultrasound, etc.
  10. Organizational standards for Joint Commission, Patient Safety and the Department of Heath will be met or exceeded
  11. Takes call or stand-by when required. 
  12. Performs other duties as required.

Job Specifications

  1. Education:  Graduate of an AMA approved radiology course or training and experience prior to 2000.
  2. Licensure:  Possession of current California CRT with Fluoroscopy Permit, Possession of a Venipuncture Permit or documented venipuncture training prior to January 1, 2013, or possession of a Venipuncture Permit with 10 venipunctures after January 1, 2013 and venipunctures completed within 1 month of hire. AHA or equivalent BLS Certification required.
  3. Experience: Two or more years of experience in general radiology, at least one year of experience in CT.
  4. Skills:  Some clerical and computer experience. Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skill in providing appropriate care for patients in all age groups:  Practices the principles of ALARA.
  5. Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrates the True North values. Hours of Work:  Depend on shift assignment

Compensation:

Hourly salary range $63.22 -$73.19  (offered rate based on years of experience) 

  1.  Evening Shift Differential 5.58 per hour
  2.  Night Shift Differential $8.75 per hour
  3.  Weekend Shift Differential $1.40 per hour
