Description

At NorthBay Health, the Director, Philanthropy is responsible for developing and implementing strategies for securing significant financial support from a portfolio of current donors and donor prospects. Responsibilities include the entire life cycle of philanthropy: identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major donors, tracking and reporting on performance.  In addition, to building and maintaining other donor programs like: a Grateful Patient Program as well as others. The Director independently and as a member of the Foundation team, providing direction to the Foundation President to help with management of their respective portfolios.

Qualifications

Education:  Bachelor's Degree in public relations, communications, English, fundraising or related field required. Master's preferred.

License/ Certifications: Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) preferred.

Experience: A minimum of eight years of leadership experience in successful non-profit fundraising, campaign management, donor engagement.

Skills: 

  • Support the mission, vision, and brand of NorthBay Health.     
  • Organize and lead a donor stewardship program by selling NorthBay's mission and vision to donor prospects.
  • Drive and ambition, excellent analytical and oral communication skills.
  • Computer savvy.
  • Proven track record of personally closing five and six figure gifts.
  • Experience with philanthropic foundations.
  • Knowledge of planned giving.
  • Superior interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with a variety of constituencies, including donors, volunteers, patients, and staff.
  • Team and goal-orientated.
  • Natural and optimistic team leader.
  • Resourceful and data-driven work ethic.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to successfully plan and achieve short-term and long-term fundraising goals.
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated, utilizing a high level of initiative, judgment, and critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrated experience in managing multiple priorities required. 
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Requires travel and flexible schedule, including some weekend and evening work.

Compensation: $150K  to $165K  based on years of experience in the role.
