At NorthBay Health the Employee Health Coordinator promotes high quality cost effective execution of NorthBay Healthcare's occupational health, employee health and wellness programs.  Coordinates all aspects of the workers' compensation (WC) program.  Analyzes data to identify trends and makes recommendations. Supports NorthBay Health's mission and values to prevent work related injuries and promote the overall health of the employees.   Is pro-active with injury/illness management and prevention.  Functions as a facilitator and liaison to promote the most appropriate services for an employee injury, illness or disability. 

Through a process of assessment, planning, coordinating and evaluation, collaborates with other disciplines, services and departments to achieve maximum functional and quality outcomes.  Assesses, promotes and plans health, wellness and safety assessments, activities, education and programming to ensure optimal wellness through out the whole employee population. 

The Employee Health Coordinator collaborates with the Clinic Manager of Occupational Health/Employee Health and Human Resources regarding strategic planning for employee health, wellness and education activities to promote health and reduce organizational risk, and the effective management of WC costs. Maintains compliance with WC regulations, OSHA regulations, regulatory agencies, accreditation and system policies and procedures.



Qualifications

  1. Education:  BSN degree required; Master's degree preferred. 
  2. Licensure/Certification: Current active and unrestrictive professional licensure/credentials. California Board of Registered Nursing (RN) required.  Case Manager Certification within 2 years of hire. Current AHA or equivalent BLS certification required.
  3. Experience:  Five years professional-level experience in clinical nursing, rehabilitation services, Social Services, or risk management required.  Knowledge of Workers Compensation regulations and claims experience strongly preferred. 
  4. Skills:  Strong client advocacy and negotiation skills, strong organizational skills with attention to detail required.  Intermediate proficiency with word processing required; intermediate proficiency with databases strongly preferred.  Must be capable of sound and independent judgment and decision-making.  Must have strong written and oral communication skills. Requires Microsoft office applications: (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook), multi-line phone, typing. Cerner knowledge preferred, iSystoc knowledge preferred.
  5. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee may participate in the following activities: Approximately 60% sitting with occasional lifting, bending, stooping and pushing of equipment. Gross and fine hand manipulation. Acute visual and auditory senses with or without assistive devices.  Work is generally performed in an office or clinical environment with some exposure to infectious diseases or hazardous working conditions.  May require occasional travel between system campuses.
  8. Hours of Work:  Full-time Monday through Friday.  May require rare and pre-scheduled availability on weekends, early morning, evening or night shifts.

Compensation:

  • Hourly Salary Range Min $71.00 - $83.91 (Offered hourly rate based on years of experience)
