Description

At NorthBay Health, the Epic Business Intelligence Analyst will work with the Enterprise Information Management Team, Epic Applications' teams and internal customers to provide a service oriented, cross-functional, knowledgeable, single point of technical leadership to support Epic Cogito data and reporting needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and address analytic and reporting needs across clinical and business operations.
  • Utilize Epic Cogito tools (e.g., Clarity, Caboodle, SlicerDicer) to extract, transform, and load healthcare data for downstream analytics and reporting.
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines to ingest and process data from the Epic EMR and other clinical systems.
  • Optimize SQL queries and ETL processes to ensure efficient performance across large datasets.
  • Collaborate with data architects and BI developers to build robust data models that support self-service analytics and reporting needs.
  • Develop documentation for data workflows, mappings, and data dictionaries.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects involving clinical and operational data analysis.
  • Monitor data pipeline integrity and proactively address data quality issues.


Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, or related field.

Licensure / Certification:

  • Epic certification will ultimately be required in this position 

Experience

  • Three (3)+ years of experience as a data engineer or similar role, with at least 2 years working with Epic EMR data.
  • Strong expertise with Epic Cogito tools (e.g., Clarity, Caboodle, Radar, SlicerDicer).
  • Proficient in SQL, ETL development, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Experience working with Epic Clarity Data Models and an understanding of healthcare domains (clinical, operational, revenue cycle).
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools – Tableau experience is preferred
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA and healthcare data privacy regulations.
  • Epic certifications in Clarity Data Model, Caboodle Developer, or Cogito tools preferred.
  • Experience working in Agile or DevOps environments preferred
  • Background in healthcare analytics, clinical decision support, or population health preferred

Hours of Work: Normally works eight hours Monday through Friday. Occasionally must work late or on weekends to complete project deadlines or emergency situations. Hours will vary according to work demands based on business need.

Compensation: $51.55 to $62.67  based on years of experience doing the duties of the role.
