Description

At NorthBay Health, the Senior Financial Analyst prepares specialized and ad-hoc reports.  Leads the preparation of expenditure analyses and program analyses and performs complex analyses for the System Management Team.  Gathers, synthesizes and interprets data in developing complex analyses and reports.  Creates and modifies spreadsheets and databases to perform analytical duties.   Leads the implementation of new software and upgrades. Is a SME for the Financial Analyst team.

 

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES

  1. Leads the preparation and presentation of financial analyses to the System Management Team.  Types of reports include: Capital expenditure analyses, new program evaluations, pro forma income statements, budgeting, contracting, cash flow, cost analyses, reimbursement, pricing studies and benchmarking.  
  2. Participates in and provides financial expertise on system task forces and committees. 
  3. Consults with department managers regarding financial and operational issues including report interpretation, scheduling, pricing, budget preparation, variance reporting and benchmarking.
  4. Provides leadership and manages other projects and staff as assigned.
  5. Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  1. Education: B.S. in Finance, Accounting or related field. MBA, M.P.H. required or 8 years of experience in a higher-level financial analyst position.
  2. Experience: Seven years of financial analysis, budgeting or management experience is required.  Three years in a healthcare environment highly preferred.
  3. Skills: Excellent analytical skills.  Ability to assess appropriateness and reliability of source data.  Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills, understanding of relational databases, and knowledge of healthcare cost accounting practices.  Experience with Kaufman Hall budgeting or cost accounting software is preferred. Knowledge of GAAP and laws, regulations and statues governing the operation of healthcare providers.  Excellent knowledge of analytic techniques.  Requires a high comfort level with taking initiative and responsibility, high energy and productivity and the ability to manage details in an organized work style.  Must be able to handle changing priorities and delegate workload.
  4.   7. Hours of Work: Days – full-time Monday through Friday.  Start and end times and other hours of work are subject to business need. 
  8. Compensation:  $61.10 - $70.73 per hour (Offered hourly rate based on years of experience in a Senior Financial Analyst role, MAX rate is commensurate to 20+ years of experience).
