Description

NorthBay Health is seeking a Staffing/Scheduling Specialist to join our Clinical Support Services team. In this critical role, you will work closely with Clinical Managers, Clinical Nurse Supervisors, and other leaders to ensure optimal staffing across assigned patient care units. You will play a key part in maintaining safe and effective staffing levels while supporting daily operations.

In this position you will:

  1. Perform daily staffing functions for all assigned units in collaboration with unit Clinical Manager, Clinical Nurse Supervisor or designees.
  2. Be charged with the master scheduling process for all assigned units.
  3. Be accountable for the maintenance of the registry / traveler credentialing process.
  4. Be responsible for unit placement of registry staff.
  5. Assist with secretarial, clerical and receptionist support for the Clinical Support Services Department.
  6. Maintain lines of communication while maintaining confidentiality of patient and employee information.
  7. Work under direct supervision of Staffing Supervisor.

Qualifications

Education: 

  1. High School graduate or equivalent required.
  2. Associates Degree preferred.

Experience, Knowledge and Skills:  

  1. Previous secretarial experience required. 
  2. Previous hospital staffing experience preferred.   
  3. Word processing experience required.  Excel, Access, or other database experience preferred.
  4. Excellent organization and communication skills. 
  5. Able to work independently and organize workload, prioritize and use good judgement. 
  6. General office skills.  Able to handle heavy telephone traffic and to work with frequent interruptions. Proficient in using copiers, fax machines, and other general office machines.
  7. Ability to manage all types of stress well in a high demanding position.

Hours of Work: 10-hour shifts; 30-minute lunch. Some weekend and holiday work is required. 

Compensation:

  • Hourly Salary Range Min $29.63 - Max $32.61 (Offered hourly rate based on years of experience) 
  • 10% per diem differential included in salary range
  • Plus, Generous Shift Differentials
