Homestead Advisers is looking to add a Hybrid Wholesaler in intermediary distribution channels. Homestead isn't your typical investment manager. Founded in 1990 by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA), our start-up story is unique. Our roots run deep in providing high-quality, affordable investment products to over 400 electric cooperatives and their members through investments in Homestead Funds. Born from managing pension and defined benefit plans sponsored by NRECA, this history has shaped our approach to investing and distinguishes us from other firms.

Summary of Position

The Hybrid Wholesaler within Intermediary Distribution is responsible for driving sales and growth of the Homestead Funds in multiple channels, primarily RIAs and Independent Broker Dealers. Plays a critical role in achieving asset growth and increasing market share within this segment. Operates in collaboration with other intermediary professionals to achieve sales goals while utilizing digital selling tools and Homestead infrastructure resources, as well as interacting with Homestead Advisers' senior leadership and investment teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cultivates and maintains strong relationships with all existing clients and advisors and ensures that their needs are understood and served.

  • Drives sales with prospects and existing clients in Homestead Funds. Manages consultative selling to focus accounts, retaining legacy holdings and significantly growing and cross-selling strategies.

  • Assesses client needs, educates, and promotes the value proposition of the firm's products. Working with Intermediary Distribution team, gains a sophisticated understanding of each platform's home office approach and portfolio construction and listens actively when collaborating with clients.

  • Monitors industry trends, competitor activities, and advisor needs to inform strategy development and product positioning.

  • Follow ups on data driven leads, gathers feedback on products, market trends, and services, and communicates findings to assist marketing strategy.

  • Provides regular updates to senior management on intermediary channel performance, market insights, and business development initiatives.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in business, communications or related field. Additional educational credentials including an MBA, CFA, CIMA or CFP preferred. 

  • 3+ years of experience in sales or business development within the asset management industry, with a focus on this channel.

  • Demonstrated track record of achieving sales targets and growing business within this segment.

  • In-depth understanding of the investment landscape, products, and the specific needs of advisors.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with strong presentation skills, both in-person and virtual.

  • Client-focused with a strong drive to achieve results and to build relationships with a high degree of professionalism and integrity.

  • Ability to flex between working independently and collaborating on a team.

  • Ability to provide service excellence by building relationships, being resourceful, responsive and respectful.

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading.

  • Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
