Alaska's 2nd largest school district is looking to hire Special Education teachers for the upcoming school year! We are located 45 minutes outside of Anchorage, AK. We have 19,000+ students across 49 schools. Our communities include: Glacier View, Sutton, Palmer, Wasilla, Butte, Knik-Fairview, Meadow Lakes, Big Lake, Houston, Willow, Talkeetna and Trapper Creek.

Position Description: To implement appropriate individualized education plan as defined by the IEP Team. To be an advocate for students with special needs, andprovide quality services to eligible individuals based on current research and technology. Assist the Student Support Services Department in meeting audit and compliance standards, and promote positive attitudes about and toward Special Education.
Salary: $56,445 – $88,646 Depending on verification of service and education. MSBSD has a competitive Salary Schedule with an accelerated step advancement. Applicants can bring a maximum of 6 years' experience. We pay an additional $3,000 bonus PER YEAR for National Certification.
Leave: Each Certified Teacher receives 4 paid personal leave days at the beginning of the year and accrues 1.33 sick leave days each month of employment.
Retirement: MSBSD is a member of the State of Alaska Teachers Retirement System.
Hiring Incentive:
- Newly hired related service providers, and special education teachers who teach in either a BSP, RISE/ASPIRE, or Life Skills program will receive a $5000 relocation bonus
