- Certification Details
- Certification as a CT (ASCP), scat (ASCP) or CT (CMIAC) required.
- Graduate of a CAHEA approved school of Cytotechnology if no CT (ASCP) certification.
- Job Details
- Position: ASCP Certified Cytotechnologist
- Facility: Riverside Methodist Hospital
- Shift: Usually Mon-Fri 0730-1600; occasional weekends based on volume; no call; no holidays
- The principal responsibility of the Cytotechnologist is to microscopically examine a wide variety of complex cellular body specimens for the purpose of identifying abnormal changes in cells that may be indicative of inflammatory, premalignant, malignant or other changes.
- The process must be performed with a high degree of accuracy, precision and timeliness.
- These assessments are based on specific knowledge of human anatomy, physiology and pathology, and on judgement acquired in specialized undergraduate and postgraduate training.
- EMR is EPIC and OhioHealth lab personnel will wear red scrubs.
- Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree with field of study: Cytotechnology, chemical, biological or clinical laboratory science AND possess Certification as a CT (ASCP), scat (ASCP) or CT (CMIAC).
- OR Bachelor of science degree in chemical, biological or clinical laboratory science AND a graduate of a CAHEA approved school of Cytotechnology
- Must have 2 years of experience with travel (in hospital setting)
- High volume lab experience
- Hologic/thinprep, MUST BE HOLOGIC IMAGER TRAINED AND BE ABLE TO SHOW CERTIFICATE OF TRAINING
- Schedule Information
