Summary

 

 The Data Modeler will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing data models to support the data architecture needs of the organization. This role requires a deep understanding of database systems, data modeling methodologies, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data models meet business requirements and performance expectations.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Develop logical, physical, and conceptual data models for data warehousing, data marts, and operational data stores.
  • Analyze source systems, data requirements, and data flows to create efficient data models.
  • Collaborate with the Data Architect to ensure data models are accurately implemented and optimized for performance. Partner with data architects, data analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all data models, including data dictionaries and metadata repositories.
  • Ensure data models comply with data governance policies and standards, including data security and privacy requirements.
  • Evaluate and refine existing data models to improve efficiency, scalability, and performance.
  • Utilize data modeling tools and software such as SQLdbm or like create and manage data models.

 

Requirements

 

  • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or computer engineering and/or 10+ years equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of experience designing and building Data warehouses and Analytics solutions.
  • 5+ years of experience with Data Modeling, specially for Supply Chain and Finance domains.
  • Strong understanding of DWH concepts and modern Data Architecture design patterns and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in data modeling tools (e.g., Erwin, SQLdbm ).
  • Strong understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with various database platforms (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Good understanding of Master Data Management concepts and principles.
  • 2+ years of working experience with designing, building and supporting multi-terabyte data warehouses on Cloud (Snowflake preferred).
  • Experience with various relational and MPP database platforms like IBM DB2/I (iSeries) , Netezza, SQL Server.
  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and cloud-based data services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Snowflake).
