Summary:

This position is responsible for learning and then assisting other Desktop Support Specialists with the installation and maintenance of the organization's P.C. hardware and related peripherals and support of standard application software. 


Responsibilities:

* Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of personal computers, Microsoft networks, file servers, and other related equipment, devices, and systems through training with other Desktop Support Specialists.
* Resolve issues and questions from users having problems with computer applications according to established policies and procedures.
* Assist in the development and maintenance of proper information security best practices and controls for hardware, software, awareness, and data/cloud operations
* Keep abreast of industry trends and new technologies.
* Learn how to maintain the inventory database of PCs and PC related hardware.
* Maintain professional and technical knowledge by conducting research, attending seminars, educational workshops, classes, and conferences; reviewing professional publications; establishing networks; participating in professional societies; conferring with representatives of contracting agencies and related organizations.

* High School Diploma, HSED Diploma or GED Certification wi

* Associates Degree

* Must complete Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) training within 30 days of employment and annually thereafter.
* IT Industry / Vendor Standard Desktop Certificate. (Ex. CompTIA, Microsoft, or Help Desk Institute (HDI).

* Onsite/Telecommute: It is expected that this position will work a majority of their time in the office, however, may have the ability to occasionally telecommute depending on circumstances and prior approval.
* Proof of immunity or dates of 2 doses of MMR and proof of immunity or dates of 2 doses of Varicella prior to starting in any position within the Oneida Comprehensive Health Division. Any refusal of vaccination(s) or failure to provide proof of immunity may disqualify the applicant.


Experience:

Essential:
* Experience in computer desktop
Nonessential:
* Supporting, installing and maintaining PC's and peripherals. 
* Previous experience using and supporting spreadsheet, word processing, and database software.

Must be willing and able to obtain additional related education and training.

Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and adhere to the Nation Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy.

A Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and/or a 2 step TB Skin Test is required within thirty (30) days of employment.

Must provide a copy of diploma/degree, license, or certification upon employment.
