SALARY IS NEGOTIABLE DEPENDING ON EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

After successful completion of the probationary period, employee will receive off probation wage increase.


Summary:

This position is responsible for administering post-secondary educational funding for the Oneida Nation to include, but not limited to Federal, State, and Tribal. Incumbent oversees all programs and projects related to higher educational attainment for the Oneida membership. These include the budgeting and financial processes, career guidance and assessments for clients and coordinating with like programs internal and external to the Tribe. Maintain confidentiality of all privileged information. 


Responsibilities:

* Administer the Oneida Higher Education Program, including planning, implementing, budgeting and evaluations.
* Administer the Federal Self Governance Grant funds in addition to the tribal education funds following Department Standard Operating Procedures
* Perform need assessment through the use of surveys and other statistical data gathering for grant application as well as for other reporting purposes
* Prepare and submit all monthly, quarterly and annual Higher Education reports in a timely manner
* Oversee program activities and related budgetary analysis, keeping abreast of the yearlong budgetary processes and working closely with the Central Accounting Department
* Supervise the Higher Education Department staff, which includes the hiring, orientation, training, scheduling and performance evaluations adhering to all Department Standard Operating Procedures
* Provide leadership for the short and long range planning needs of the division aligning them with the departments and overall tribal needs for education
* Oversee the financial aid and career advising to current and prospective clients
* Ensure there are regularly scheduled financial aid workshops in the community
* Provide excellent communication skills to include written correspondence, telephone, face-to-face, newsletters, workshops and other communication efforts
* Maintain a listing of resources in order to provide current and up to date information about financial aid opportunities from the Federal, State and Local levels
* Ensure the division provides and promotes excellent customer services regularly monitoring through use of continuous improvement procedures
* Perform tracking and monitoring of client files utilizing the AS400 computer system for reporting and referral purposes
* Implement the forty (40) development assets into program planning
* Attend department and related meetings as requested/required
* Learn and contribute to a team effort and accomplish related results as required

Must be willing and able to obtain additional related education and training.

Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and adhere to the Nation Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy.

A Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and/or a 2 step TB Skin Test is required within thirty (30) days of employment.

Must provide a copy of diploma/degree, license, or certification upon employment.
