Salary is Negotiable

After successful completion of the probationary period, employee will receive off probation wage increase.


Summary:

Provide excellent customer service to the Tribal membership relating to payments and other pertinent information. This position must be knowledgeable about the GTC Meeting Stipend Payment Policy, Per Capita Ordinance and the General Welfare Exclusion. 


Responsibilities:

* Practice excellent customer service skills at all times.
* Assist the front reception area and Records area as needed.
* Coordinate, review and process all Membership payment activities.
* Recommend revisions to enrollment forms.
* Maintain professional standards in all matters and strict department security, confidentiality, and quality.
* Participate in and attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
* Participate in rotating schedules for General Tribal Council meetings and Tribal elections.
* Update membership data as it directly relates to payments.
* Update and provide accurate numbers for mailing requests when needed.
* Gain basic understanding and provide assistance when needed, of other positions within the Trust Enrollment Department.
* Participate and assist in short- and long-range projects.
* Support team goals and objectives, department planning, organizing, and scheduling activities.
* Follow records retention policy and procedures.
* Prepare various correspondence, minutes, agendas, memos, forms, newsletters, directories, resolutions, ordinances, standard operating procedures, and other documents from drafts, recordings, or verbal instruction.

Skills:

Essential:
* Skill in operating various word-processing, spreadsheets, and database software programs in a Windows environment.
* Skill in organizational management to include planning, organizing and schedule priorities to meet strict deadlines and successfully cope with challenging situations and conditions.
* Skill in verbal and written communication with all internal and external departments.
* Ability to handle customers with tact, courtesy, respect, objectivity, and maturity.
* Ability to interpret applicable federal, state, tribal, county, and local laws, regulations, and requirements.
Nonessential:
* Knowledge of the AS400 System
* Knowledge of Oneida History, Community, and Cultural Values

Education Requirement - Or A Closely Related Field:

Education with Equivalent Qualifications:
Essential:
* Associates Degree in Administrative Assistant

Credentials:

Essential:
* Driver's License Personal & Tribal Vehicle
* Insurance Required


Working conditions:

Essential:
* Must be an enrolled member of the Oneida Nation
* Office setting
* Moderate noise level
* Must be able to move around in an office setting for meetings, customer walk-ins, operate office machines, etc
* Work flexible hours
* Evening and weekend work may be required

Experience:

Essential:
* Two (2) years experience of Administrative office work.
Nonessential:
* Operating database software programs in a Windows environment.
* Previous experience in self proofing (analyzing) work.

Must pass a background check to meet Employment Eligibility Requirements. If applicable, must pass a background check to meet Oneida Nation/State Compact and/or Oneida Nation Gaming Ordinance, and may be required to obtain a temporary license and/or Gaming license as a condition of employment.

Must be willing and able to obtain additional related education and training.

Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and adhere to the Nation Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy.

A Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and/or a 2 step TB Skin Test is required within thirty (30) days of employment.

Must provide a copy of diploma/degree, license, or certification upon employment.
