Summary:
The Oneida Comprehensive Health Division offers student internships that provide hands-on experience in delivering holistic and culturally sensitive healthcare services to the Oneida Nation community. Interns will have the opportunity to work alongside professionals including, but not limited to, medical, dental, behavioral health, preventive services, and business operations. This internship aims to foster a collaborative, team-oriented environment, enhancing the overall health and well-being of the community while providing valuable learning experiences for students. Continuation of this position is contingent upon funding allocations.
Responsibilities:
* Observe, interact, and learn from Oneida Comprehensive Health Division (OCHD) sites for health administration, healthcare professionals, healthcare business operations, healthcare clinicians and related fields in a variety of settings.
* Assist with data collection and analysis for research projects related to healthcare operations, patient outcomes, public health initiatives, health promotion, disease prevention, business operations, or wellness initiatives.
* Assist with analyzing OCHD data to identify trends or areas for improvement in quality of care
* Attend relevant workshops, seminars, or training sessions offered by OCHD and/or Oneida Nation.
* Interacting with healthcare employees to gain firsthand experience in a variety of OCHD settings.
* Promote OCHD mission, vision, and values in all interactions
* Interact with patients, staff, and other stakeholders in a professional and courteous manner. May involve providing basic information, answering questions, or scheduling appointments.
* Assist with ongoing OCHD projects, initiatives, or complete smaller independent projects under supervision.
* Above duties and responsibilities are not all inclusive but rather a general representation of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position. The duties and responsibilities will be subject to change based on organizational needs and/or deemed necessary by the supervisor.

Must pass a background check to meet Employment Eligibility Requirements. If applicable, must pass a background check to meet Oneida Nation/State Compact and/or Oneida Nation Gaming Ordinance, and may be required to obtain a temporary license and/or Gaming license as a condition of employment.
Must be willing and able to obtain additional related education and training.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and adhere to the Nation Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy.
A Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and/or a 2 step TB Skin Test is required within thirty (30) days of employment.
