  • Position Summary: The function of the Radiologic Technologist position within the Department of Diagnostic Imaging is to perform all phases of technical diagnostic imaging. Radiologic Technologists operate X-Ray equipment used to capture and develop images for the purpose of medical diagnosis.
  • The Radiologic technologist promotes the hospital's mission statement by delivering high quality, cost effective, family-oriented service.
  • This position helps to create a collaborative environment by integrating education, research and clinical leadership.
  • Radiologic Technologists work with infant, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients.
    Job Requirements
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited diagnostic radiography program that meets current qualifications to take and pass the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) board examinations in Radiography upon hire.
  • Preferred: OHSU-partnered Radiologic Technology program experience.
  • Preferred: Level 1 Trauma Center experience; Academic Medical Center experience.
  • Must be OBMI licensed.
  • Must be ARRT eligible upon hire and ARRT registered within 6 months of hire date.
  • Must have current approved BLS card.
    Schedule Information
  • Technologists will be trained in all general radiology exams/areas so that they are able to rotate through the department based on workflow needs.
  • Utilize the VIP transportation system to arrange for patient delivery.
  • Positions patient for diagnostic radiology exams according to department procedures, training, and machine requirements with a high regard for the safety and care of the patient.
  • Operates radiology equipment, determines and sets exposure factors, sets technique utilizing all relevant factors to ensure accurate and quality images with minimal and acceptable repeat rates.
  • Uses computer image processing, as needed to select, process, optimize and archive images to PACS.
  • Completely tracks exams in the Radiology Information system.
  • Develops and presents images and related patient information to radiologist for diagnosis.
  • Assists with patient transport by moving patients using standard procedures.
  • Assists in the training of Radiologic Technology Students, and adheres to dept. policy on supervision of student technologists.
