About this Position

The Coordinator of Student Life collaborates with the Director and stakeholders across campus to design, implement, and continuously improve the impact of activities that create innovative, intentional, and meaningful student interactions that support students' path from recruitment to on-time completion.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field. (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)

  • Minimum of two years of experience leading and collaborating with teams to develop data informed strategies and work plans that progress individuals toward defined goals and outcomes.

  • Minimum of two years of demonstrated experience planning and organizing events.

Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:

  • Must have current driver's license.

Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

  • Ability to manage large projects with exceptional skill.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster and grow a campus-wide, student-centered culture.
  • Oversight of strategies that exhibit a helpful attitude of service and assistance to students, faculty, staff and visitors.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate diplomatically, clearly, and effectively, both verbally and in writing to exchange information, give/receive instructions and respond to inquiries appropriately with all students, faculty, staff and community partners.
  • High degree of initiative to work independently and collaborate in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of office technologies including but not limited to: office computers, fax machines, scanners, internet, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook) and varied technologies to communicate with audiences.
  • Ability to think critically and problem solve in a fast- paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills with experience using data to inform continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of systems and programs that support progress toward defined outcomes.
  • Passion for assisting customers and representing the OSU-OKC and OSU brand with positivity and professionalism.
  • Demonstrated history of ethical and professional behavior.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Three years of experience progressing audiences toward defined outcomes.
  • Experience working with and managing groups, clubs, and organizations toward defined outcomes.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Utilize data available to support the review and strengthening of existing programs, and the planning of new programs that yield a meaningful impact on the greatest number of individuals.
  2. Gain basic knowledge of and collaborate with recruitment, admissions, and advising to support students through recruitment and onboarding to on-time completion.
  3. Collaborate to support the development and expansion of programming that fosters equity and belonging
  4. Serve as point of contact for Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education (OSRHE) student initiatives.
  5. Coordinate and facilitate interaction with and among student groups, organizations and community-based volunteer activities.
  6. Assists with the development of the semester action plan.
  7. Assists in documenting activities and events sponsored by campus clubs and organizations.
  8. Assists and in collaboration with the OSU Foundation to manage and guide the President's Leadership Cohort from recruiting, retention and completion.
  9. Develops and plans event schedule and programming for students in OSU-OKC clubs(SGA) and President's Leadership Cohort students.
  10. Supports campus-wide retention efforts.
  11. Complies with all state and university policies.
  12. Completes all mandatory training and participated in a minimum of two professional development opportunities each year.
  13. Performs other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to work flexible hours to include some nights and weekends.
  • Work will be performed in an office environment with a significant amount of public contact, in person, by telephone, via email, and various communication platforms.

Physical Requirements:

  • Duties require extended periods of sitting, talking, and listening.
  • Duties require extensive use of computers, telephones, and other office equipment.
  • Requires possible lifting of up to 25 lbs (if an object weighs more than 45 pounds, OSU-Oklahoma City requires this to be a two person lift.)
  • Travel may be required.
