In this key role, you will oversee a state-of-the-art healthcare Control Centre. Your role will be to monitor numerous systems including fire and life safety, access control, and CCTV. You will help track and deploy security staff and handle various dispatch duties including incident call taking.
- Dispatch Security Guards to incidents, requests for assistance, emergencies, etc.
- Maintain control of access to and from the property and affiliated Hospitals
- Log details of radio transmission, telephone calls, and verbal instructions
- Direct backup support as necessary
- Inform management of major incidents
- Maintain the Camera Surveillance System
- Answer all incoming security telephone lines including the complex emergency telephone line.
- Ensure that security operations occur consistent with policy and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Ability to demonstrate a high degree of professionalism
- Previous security experience is considered an asset
- Experience in healthcare is considered an asset
- Strong command and fluency in the English language both written and verbal
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment
- Must be able to handle stress and pressure and make a sound decision under duress
- Must demonstrate high attention to detail / observational awareness
- Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence and the ability to work productively and efficiently in a team
- Provide First Aid and CPR Level C + AED certification
- Ability to be clean shaven to pass an N95 Mask Fit Test
- Proof of COVID-19 Vaccine (minimum double vaccination)
- A copy of your immunization records (Measles, Mumps, Rubella [MMR], Varicella, and TB Skin Tests - Step 1 & 2)
- Completed immunization for Measles, Mumps, and Rubella are required at the time of hire. Applicants who are not immunized or are otherwise unable to provide their MMR immunity at the time of hire will not be deemed eligible for the position.
- Ability to clear a Vulnerable Sector Check (during onboarding)
- Must be able to commit to full-time availability for no less than 6 months
- English proficiency (oral & written) is required
- Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset
- 6+ months of customer service experience is considered an asset
