Shifts: 12 hour continental day & nights schedule - Rotating shifts
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and patrol assigned areas (on foot or via vehicle) to ensure the safety and security of two properties.
- Control access to restricted areas by verifying credentials and maintaining visitor logs.
- Operate surveillance systems (CCTV), intrusion detection, and access control systems.
- Respond promptly to alarms, security breaches, or emergencies and report incidents in accordance with company procedures.
- Enforce safety and security policies, including contractor and employee compliance with site protocols.
- Conduct site inspections to identify potential security or safety hazards.
- Complete detailed and accurate daily logs, incident reports, and shift summaries.
- Cooperate with emergency response personnel, law enforcement, and internal departments during investigations or emergency events.
- Support risk mitigation efforts and contribute to continuous improvement of the security program.
Qualifications:
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- Valid Security Guard license
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent/post-secondary diploma or degree
- G class drivers license and a Clean Drivers Abstract from last 3 years
- Minimum 1 year security related experience preferred
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills in English
- High level of customer service
- Proficiency with Windows based software and knowledge of PC based incident reporting software
- Knowledge of access control, CCTV, fire equipment and fire monitoring systems
- Knowledge of relevant Federal, Provincial, Municipal laws and bi-laws
- Position requires the ability to walk/stand/climb stairs for extended periods of time in all weather conditions
- Valid First Aid and CPR Level C Certification
- Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB)
- Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
- Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite, however Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6 month commitment to the position/availability
