Site Description:
The Lennox and Addington County General Hospital's emphasis on general medicine and general surgery reflects its role in providing core services. Specialists from Kingston regularly hold clinics at the hospital. The range and scope of those clinics continue to expand as the hospital grows. Emergency services, operating 24 hours a day, see in excess of 26,000 patients per year.
The hospital currently operates 52 beds: 24 acute care, 2 palliative care, 4 level 2 intensive care, and 22 long-term care beds. Our outpatient clinics include: General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Gynecology, Urology, and Plastic Surgery. We have an active Cardiac Rehabilitation Program, Respiratory Rehabilitation Program, Diabetes Education Program, and a recently updated Chemotherapy suite.
The hospital offers a comprehensive range of diagnostic services supported by a well-equipped laboratory and diagnostic imaging department.
The Hospital employs approximately 330 staff. Medical staff includes family physicians, including those with specialties in emergency medicine and anesthesia, 2 general internists, a team of general surgeons, a team of radiologists, and a number of consulting specialty physicians from Kingston.

Job Skills / Requirements Position: Full-Time Security Guard
Site: Lennox & Addington Hospital - 8 Richmond Park Dr
Schedule: Continental Rotation - Nights Only - 1900-0700
Overtime Method: Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours
Payrate: $18.43/hour

- Carry out all security duties as specified (including, but not limited to):
- Proactive/reactive interior & exterior patrols

- Documenting & reporting of any/all security events on shift

- Minimum 6 month healthcare security experience required
- Experience with Use of Force (UoF) in a security environment required
- Valid Ontario Security License
- Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved source)
- A copy of your immunization records (Measles, Mumps, Rubella [MMR], Varicella, and TB Skin Tests - Step 1 & 2)
- Completed immunization for Measles, Mumps, and Rubella are required at the time of hire. Applicants who are not immunized or are otherwise unable to provide their MMR immunity at the time of hire will not be deemed eligible for the position.
- Proof of (minimum) double COVID-19 vaccination
- Ability to complete extensive patrols, to sit/stand for up to 12 hours per shift
- Ability to work alone and self-motivated
- Fluency in English (oral and written)
- Excellent communication and de-escalation skills is required
- Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB)
- Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
- Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite, however Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6 month commitment to the position/availability
