Job Description:
The Security Supervisor is a member of the Paladin Management Team responsible for day-to-day operations of the Western portfolio and serves as Paladin's frontline representative to NLHS. The role operates predominantly during business hours and is subject to change due to operational requirements. Varying hours will be set and expected to be fulfilled, as assigned. The Site Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision and monitoring of all security related duties for the sites they oversee. You are to ensure that all security operations are adhered to, and that policies and procedures of both the client and Paladin Security Group are followed. The candidate will analyze data, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and report to senior management to ensure effective service delivery. The candidate will be responsible for providing industry-informed feedback and developing action plans to enhance service quality for employees and clients. The ideal candidate will possess a background in trauma-informed care, demonstrate an understanding of complex societal challenges, and maintain a professional and respectful approach to all clientele. The Supervisor will support the ongoing development of officers across assigned sites, oversee the implementation and development of policies and procedures, and ensure all required documentation (ie. DARs, Incident Reports, OH&S, Track Tik, etc.) are completed accurately and in accordance with Paladin and client standards. Additionally, the Supervisor will investigate issues and complaints as they arise and communicate findings to the Paladin Management Team.
Responsibilities:
The Supervisor is responsible for managing 24-hour operations within the Western portfolio, overseeing multiple Security Shift Leads and team members as direct reports.
The role requires strong time management skills and active participation in client committees (e.g., HEM, OHS), while maintaining and advancing industry knowledge through membership and professional development with the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS). A demonstrated interest in healthcare security and safety, along with a commitment to continuous learning, is essential.
The Supervisor is responsible for implementing and ensuring compliance with applicable legislative requirements, including Occupational Health and Safety and Fire and Life Safety standards.
Additional responsibilities include monitoring communications, auditing reports, ensuring reporting accuracy, submitting critical reports within established timelines, maintaining operational binders and manuals, and promoting a CARE culture within the team. All disciplinary matters must be appropriately documented and submitted to the Client Service Manager (CSM) for the People and Culture team.
The Supervisor will support the management of Emergency Management policies in collaboration with Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services (NLHS) and respond to major incidents and emergencies as required. A working knowledge of, and certification in, ICS 100, ICS 200, or other recognized Emergency Management training is considered an asset. Additional duties may be assigned to support emergency site requirements and operational needs.
