Overview Job Skills / Requirements
- The Site Supervisor shall manage and supervise the Shift Supervisory team and its Security Officers assigned to the site and act as a resource for security issues in accordance with Paladin Security Group standards, and regulatory requirements.
- The Site Supervisor will ensure guidelines and standards for security staff are adhered to, including the inspection of officers' Security Licenses. All officers must hold a current and valid Security License, and that license will be carried by each security staff member while on duty.
- The Site Supervisor will ensure all Significant Incident Notifications (SINs) are escalated immediately after the incident to the CSM, inclusive of all security officer reports (review for completeness) being forwarded in a timely manner.
- The Site Supervisor is responsible for maintaining and coordinating staffing levels at the site.
- The Site Supervisor will ensure all security staff members are attired professionally and, in a manner, consistent with Paladin's policies on dress and deportment.
- The Site Supervisor, directly or through Shift Supervisors, will supervise and assist the Security Officers in the normal conduct of their tasks, as well as with additional responsibilities delegated to them.
- While on shift, or when notified, the Site Supervisor will respond to all emergencies and take command of the situations as they pertain to the contract until the Area Security Lead can attend.
- The Site Supervisor will conduct, directly or through Shift Supervisors, site orientation and training of new officers, ensuring site orientation packages and officer review tests are completed within the allotted training period.
- The Site Supervisor shall maintain an information system of activities from site patrol activity reports and produce related statistics and reports.
- The Site Supervisor will assist in the conduct of a site monthly fire and safety drills and inspections, ensuring security records and incident reports are prepared and maintained, as well as any additional safety and security incident documentation.
- The Site Supervisor will ensure the completion of required audits and inspections, including the provision of incident reports and other safety and security incident documentation
The Site Supervisor as the Healthcare Security Administrator, will:
- Check e-mails and respond to any queries from clinical staff and / or Paladin management, with regards to events from previous shifts or personnel or site concerns;
- Coordinate last minute staffing concerns caused by sick employees or other short notice issues in order to ensure that all shifts are fully staffed;
- Coordinate daily paperwork, inclusive of sign in sheets, incident reports, priority reporting, etc;
- Ensure overtime requirements are checked, authorized, documented and written properly;
- Coordinate and approve vacation requests in a timely fashion and allow only if there are no scheduling conflicts that would incur overtime;
- Conduct required interviews for potential staff members and organize their training. Ensure the potential employee's paperwork is completed and their training, once completed, is properly reviewed. Ensure that the local Paladin Healthcare Training Officer is also kept abreast of any operational changes;
- Attend site specific scheduled or unscheduled meetings requiring Security presence or inputs,
- Perform all other duties as required by the CSM.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of security-related experience preferred.
- Experience in a supervisory capacity, preferably in a security environment an asset.
- Valid Security License or Basic Security Training.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and with limited supervision.
- A high level of maturity and professionalism.
- Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
- Physically able to stand, sit and/or walk for extended periods of time.
- Must be at least 19 years of age and have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- First aid training, conflict resolution, and Advanced Security Training are considered assets.
