It is also one of Canada's largest academically affiliated tertiary care hospitals with highly specialized regional programs in advanced cardiac, vascular, stroke, neurosciences, orthopedic, and sexual assault/domestic violence services.

Position Details:
Position: Part Time S/T Security Guard

Site: Trillium Health Partners | Credit Valley Hospital, Mississauga Hospital and Queensway Healthcare Centre

Averaging Agreement: Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours 

Hours: Saturdays and Sundays (1000 - 2200)

Payrate: $19.19 / an hour

All Employees for THP are required to be willing and able to travel and work at all three site locations based on company needs and demands - Mississauga Hospital, Credit Valley Hospital, and Queensway Hospital. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits, to ensure the safety and security of the site.
• Operate security cameras and alarm systems, ensuring any suspicious activity is reported immediately to the appropriate authorities.
• Monitor and control entry points to the hospital, ensuring that only authorized individuals are allowed access to restricted areas.
• Act quickly in emergency situations, such as medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threats. Assist hospital staff as needed during crises and evacuations.
• Greet and assist visitors, patients, and hospital staff. Provide directions and ensure that guests adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
• De-escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts, and ensure that all interactions are handled calmly and professionally.
• Document daily activities, incidents, or accidents accurately. Complete reports on incidents, breaches, and security concerns.
• Work closely with hospital staff and local law enforcement to provide a coordinated security effort and ensure the safety of all parties involved.
• Ensure that hospital policies, including visitor and patient protocols, are followed. Address any violations in a manner that upholds hospital safety standards

Prerequisites:

• Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
• Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
• Covid Vaccine two doses
• Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella and two step TB skin test
• English (oral and written) fluency is a must
• Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
• Diploma in Justice studies/police foundations is considered an asset. 
• Vulnerable Sector Check - to be completed upon hire  
• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
• Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB certification program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
• Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
• Legally Authorized to work in Canada
