Summary of Job Description:
The Senior General Liability Examiner conducts all work activities for managing basic to high exposure/complex claims, including investigation and the timely resolution of cases in alignment with risk finance objectives. This position makes assessments on coverage, risk transfer, reserve levels, damages, settlement value, subrogation, and notice to insurer. The Senior General Liability Examiner functions as a primary technical resource for multi-line claims and risk portfolio. This position participates in training less experienced claims staff and may on occasion represent the company at depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
You'll get a chance to:
- Investigate basic to high exposure/complex claims, including managing litigation for multi-line risk portfolio with level of settlement and reserve authority evaluated by the Claims Manager.
- Maintain accurate diary and proactive review of claims.
- Responsible for claims results, including timely contact and disposition of claims.
- Document and communicate all claim activity in a manner that supports the outcome of the claim file on a timely basis.
- Demonstrate ability to enroll Operations and SC departments to elevate risk management standards.
- Participate in training less experienced claims staff.
- Conduct claims reviews and audits of TPA and defense panel for business results.
- Achieve key metrics in alignment with risk finance objectives.
- Handle claims consistent with policies, procedures, and best practices and in accordance with any statutory, regulatory and ethics requirements.
- Conduct store visits, attends regional meetings, and enrolls Operations compliance for safety programs.
- Achieve positive feedback from Ops and SC Leaders.
- May represent the company at depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials, including Small Claims as assigned.
- Work closely with Operations on risk management techniques.
- Develop strong relationship with Operations and actively contributes to mitigate risk at the store level.
- Actively seeks to identify potential business issues related to risk management and offers solutions.
- Contribute to safety compliance, exposure savings, and reduction of claims frequency and severity.

Your background and experience:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Minimum five years of relevant experience required
- OSHA certification recommended
- ARM and CPCU designation preferred
- Successful completion of initial and periodically required trainings.
- Obtaining a valid Food Handler's Card within 30 days of employment is a requirement of this position.
Pay Range: P3: $90,000 - $126,500 / Annual
* Within the range, individual pay is determined using various factors, including work location and experience.

ADA Statement:
While performing duties, counter areas are often hot with steam from steam table and food vapors. Workspace is restricted and employees are generally expected to remain standing for long periods of time. Employees must prepare hot and cold foods, use Chinese cook knife and other kitchen equipment and work quickly without losing accuracy. Employees must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., stand up to four hours and reach across counter tops measured at 36 inches to serve customers. Kitchens are hot and noise levels are usually high; storage space is limited and shelving is high. Employees must be able to work in a fast-paced work environment, have effective verbal communication skills, ability to adapt to a dynamic environment with changing priorities, and the ability to manage conflicts/difficult situations.
