
Description
We are looking for high-energy college students with a positive attitude and a drive to learn new technology. This person will work with Database Administrators to further our data infrastructure and management practices while learning about the technology industry and database technologies.
They will take part in the following activities. Provide database support and code implementation for enterprise applications. Work with Database Administrators to define, automate, and document processes. Track and resolve database related incidents related to performance and capacity limitations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate and communicate activities related to service disruption in test environments.
- Document database standards and processes.
- Build and maintain deployment packages for database change scripts.
- Produce and maintain documentation as required. This includes process maps, data models, training materials, user manuals and other system documentation.
- Review error logs and address errors as necessary.
- Participate in issue resolution for database environments and systems.
- Troubleshoot database server service outages as they occur.
- Attend meetings related to database maintenance and ETL processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education/Certification:
- Currently on track to receive a 4-year degree in a technical field.
Experience:
- High capacity for learning and ability to pick up new concepts quickly.
- Service mentality and willingness to help others.
- Understanding of computer concepts.
- Deep interest in computer technology.
- Competitive and collaborative spirit.
- Self-motivated.
- Must be comfortable navigating Windows, as well as using Microsoft Word and Excel.
Skills/Abilities:
- Must have the willingness to learn new systems and technologies.
- Good organization skills and ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Must have the ability to learn business processes and system relationships.
- Must have superb troubleshooting and problem solving skills and the ability to be analytical and decisive.
- Must have the ability to write clear instructions for end users and other members of the database team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must.
Applicant should be actively enrolled at the University of Oklahoma.
