Description

Exciting opportunity for interns to work in the innovative field of DevOps, learn CI/CD best practices and how to apply those concepts in a business environment. Candidates must be available to work a minimum of 16 hours during the school year and up to 40 hours during the summer. Assist in supporting builds and deployments to multiple testing and production environments. Assist in deployment and monitoring for all enterprise applications running in our development and testing and level I production environments. Work closely with developers, QA, DBAs, and IT on problem resolution. Responsibilities may include research, analysis, and implementation of automation projects and creation of ad-hoc reports.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in administering and maintaining the build and release processes using source code management tools, build and integration tools, and automated testing tools.
  • Assist in deployment of new application software and updates as required, including but not limited to web applications, web services, windows services and scheduled tasks.
  • Triage issues to our build, release, and testing environments, including but not limited to issues related to source code repositories, build, issue tracking, reporting, and other third party tools and route them to the appropriate team members for resolution.
  • Coordinate between Operations, QA, IT and Development for problem resolution concerning any errors occurring in our software.
  • Participate in release activities for the test and production level I environment between Operations, QA, IT, and Development.
  • Assist with debugging enterprise application issues to resolve problems in our test environments by reviewing errors and program code.
  • Regular attendance as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Education/Certification:

  • Actively working towards Bachelor Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or related field

Knowledge of:

  • Understanding of TCP/IP protocol and troubleshooting tools.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Must possess the ability to learn and understand business processes and relationship of systems and applications used to accomplish those processes.
  • Proficient with analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to write clear instructions for end users.
  • Occasionally required to work overtime (nights and/or weekends).
  • Frequently sits and remains on the phone for extended periods.

 

Applicant should be actively enrolled at Langston University.
