Description

The Senior Public Relations Marketer is responsible for creating and executing a number of public relations strategies and tactics to protect and promote Paycom's image in a proper, coordinated and consistent manner. These strategies and tactics include: media relations, thought leadership, sentiment monitoring, influencer relations and corporate giving and event planning duties associated with the fulfillment of Paycom's PR and marketing objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Write creative and compelling content, including media pitches, press releases, fact sheets, advertorials, bylined articles, executive social media posts, speeches and presentations.
  • Monitor Paycom's online and media relations presence across numerous platforms by tracking, reporting on and analyzing changes to make recommendations for the business.
  • Serve as a liaison between Paycom and the media and influencers, pitching them to generate more coverage and exposure of Paycom. Request publications editorial calendars and look for opportunities for Paycom to gain exposure.
  • Detect PR issues in order to build strategy around their effect on Paycom. Provide reports and analytics.
  • Research and write media briefing materials.
  • Plan and oversee press events and check presentations.
  • Assist with media training and speaking preparations for Paycom leadership and brand representatives, including reviewing presentations, facilitating requests and coordinating logistics.
  • Draft and submit award applications.
  • Oversee thought leadership and executive communications strategy and serve as a liaison for Paycom leadership.
  • Collaborate with other teams across marketing to build strategic campaigns and content.
  • Help plan and coordinate Paycom's corporate and experiential events and activations.
  • Learn all aspects and functions of the Marketing and Communications Department and be able to fill-in and assist with a variety of functions as needed.


Qualifications

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor's Degree in public relations, communications, marketing, business or related field

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in the field of communications, public relations or marketing.
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects or responsibilities with little to no supervision.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong planning and project management skills and proven experience in coordinating ideas and resources to achieve goals.
  • Computer proficiency in with MS Office products, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Additional experience with Adobe Design Standard software is a plus.
  • Ability to create and manage media relationships.
  • Strong technical aptitude in learning new software, industry terminology and Paycom specific products quickly.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor and appearance a must.
  • High standard of excellence in attention to details, deadlines, office policies and procedures.
  • Ability to handle a number of high priority projects simultaneously and effectively.
  • Able to work well with others across the organization.
