What You Will Be Doing:
You will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable cloud infrastructure that meets the needs of the business, including virtual networks, storage, and compute resources. As a Penske Cloud Systems Administrator, you are part of the team that is responsible for building and operating of our Cloud and Linux based systems maintained by Penske Truck Leasing's IT Delivery Services. Providing technical support to IT support staff, you will be responsible for system implementation, improvement and documentation, as well as disaster recovery in relation to the various platforms we support. You will be collaborating with platform engineers to formulate and design system scope and objectives as well as preparing detailed specifications for kubernetes runtimes, observability systems that provide the monitoring capabilities in the platform.
This position can sit out of our corporate headquarters in Reading, PA(preferred) or our IT Center in Tampa, FL.
Penske Responsibilities:
• Maintain and support our AWS, GCP, and Oracle cloud environments.
• Collaborate with developers, system administrators, Project Managers, testers, and customers to define requirements, implement cloud-based solutions, and refine cloud systems
• This position will also require providing support and troubleshooting issues with existing production cloud environments
• Maintains the kubernetes platform in EKS and its operational pipelines using terraform, bash scripts, ansible using the gitops model. If equivalent experience in AKS is available, acceptable.
• Monitor existing systems to ensure structural integrity
• Install and configure operating systems and other software and routinely test installed software for issues, such as glitch detection
• Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure to be in line with company guidelines
• Install, configure, and test operating systems, application software, and system management tools
• Ensure the highest level of systems and infrastructure availability
• Support disaster recovery planning and documentation for the platform
• Provide 7x24x365 support for the PTL platforms and participate in any on call scheduled activities
• Support implemented automated process scripts using Terraform, Ansible, Scripts and Python
• Maintain automated monitoring and alerting processes for the Penske platform
• Coordinate system changes and deploys within other IT groups
• Install, patch and maintain Linux systems, middleware for web systems, and the Single Sign on Environment in the platform
• Support rollbacks and system repair methods/priorities
• Other projects / tasks as assigned.
Penske Qualifications:
• Associate's degree in information technology, Computer Engineering or related field preferred.
• If no degree, then at least 1 year of specific (function) administration experience required
• 2 years of system engineering and IT support required
• 1 year of AWS engineering preferred, including hands on experience with VPCs, Availability Zones, Security Groups, ELB/ALB, etc.
• 2 years' experience with Linux / Middleware skills with an AWS focus preferred. This could include open source and purchased middleware products such as webservers, application servers, database servers, API management gateways, single-signon software, identity management software, ETL software, collaboration software, etc.
• Familiarity with performance tuning, performance problem resolution and managing web hosting partners is required
• Some experience creating automated scripts using Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation and Python preferred
• Knowledge of enterprise networks and structure
• Experience in the following concepts:
• Networking
• IT Security best practices
• Any equivalent experience in GCP, Oracle Cloud is acceptable.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job

• This is a hybrid work environment, expectations are to be in the office in person at least two days a week. There may be occasion for collaboration days or requests from leadership to be present more than the two minimum.
