Job Details
• Minimum Experience: 1 year; 1st Timers are accepted
• Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics
• General Skills and Work Setting Requirements: Medical Surgical/Renal/Bariatrics, Provides care to young adults through geriatric patients with general medical and surgical needs as well as renal and bariatric surgery services. This unit has the ability to provide telemetry services. Med Surg 5 is located at Piedmont Columbus Regional- Midtown campus. The unit operates 24 hours a day, 7 days per week and is staffed with registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, patient care techs, and unit secretaries; Peritoneal Dialysis manually, Bariatric Surgery (Gastric Sleeve and Bypass)

Job Requirements
• Certifications Required: BLS
• Ratio / Census: 1:6, 33 Beds with average daily census of 20
• Unit Systems: Epic, Pyxis, SBAR
• Scrub Color: Royal Blue
• Compliance: Full compliance required to start on time; if not compliant in time the push back is 2 weeks due to bi-weekly orientation schedule

Schedule Information
• RTO: MAX 7 days
• Weekends: Every other weekend
• Floating: Yes within scope and across facility and campuses
• Call Requirements: None
• Holidays: If one major holiday falls in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it. If two major holidays fall in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work both of the holidays. If three major holidays fall in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of the holidays
• Major Holidays are listed below: New Year's Eve and Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve and Day
