This is a Substitute Instructor position with a flexible, as-needed schedule—perfect for anyone looking to supplement their hours while maintaining a work-life balance.

  Essential Functions
  • Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans tailored to diverse learning styles in one or more subjects.

  • Plan instruction to meet specific objectives based on student needs and curriculum standards.

  • Assist with student recruitment, registration, and placement activities.

  • Evaluate and grade assignments, classwork, and papers within a 72-hour timeframe.

  • Address academic or behavioral concerns and inform the Assistant Dean of Faculty and Student Services Coordinator as needed.

  • Maintain scheduled face-to-face office hours to advise and support students.

  • Supervise and guide students through externship experiences.

  • Review and propose updates to course materials such as syllabi, assignments, and handouts.

  • Participate in professional development activities, including faculty meetings, advisory board meetings, workshops, and graduations.

  • Complete required documentation for attendance, incident reports, early alerts, and other student records.

  • Coordinate guest speakers, community service field trips, and visits to medical facilities.

  • Ensure adherence to safety and security protocols.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) OR a minimum of three (3) years of job-related experience for those without an accredited program degree.

  • Three (3) years of full-time, practical experience as a Medical Assistant.

  • Proficiency in computer applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  Preferred Qualifications
  • Classroom teaching experience.

  • Three (3) years of occupational (practical) experience as a Medical Assistant.

  Required Licenses, Certifications, or Registrations
  • A current, unencumbered certification through a nationally recognized certifying agency (CMA or RMA). Candidates without certification must be willing to obtain it.

  • Compliance with all local, state, and federal requirements to practice in the field.

  Compensation and Benefits
  • Hiring Range: $22.88–$27.46 per hour.
