SUMMARY The Online Instructor delivers engaging and effective online instruction to help students achieve their course and program objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Facilitate online courses following established guidelines and utilizing modern educational technologies.

Provide constructive and detailed feedback on assignments while offering additional support to students facing challenges with course content.

Maintain a student success rate of at least 70% across all classes taught within the program.

Record and manage student grades in compliance with institutional policies, ensuring timely submission of final grades to update transcripts and records.

Contribute to student retention efforts by proactively reaching out via phone, email, or text to disengaged students and documenting outreach in the faculty portal.

Refer students with inquiries about financial aid, transcripts, or other concerns to the appropriate departments.

Participate in required professional development sessions and in-service training.

Monitor student progress and collaborate with Program Directors and Student Services Coordinators to address academic concerns.

Stay updated on advancements in educational technology and industry trends.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
-
A Master's degree, professional degree (e.g., JD, MD), or a baccalaureate degree accompanied by recognized professional certification in the specialty field.

Graduation from an accredited program acknowledged by the U.S. Secretary of Education or CHEA in the field or subject area taught.

At least three (3) years of teaching experience in the subject area, or three (3) years of relevant occupational experience in the field or closely related areas.

A minimum of 15 semester credit hours or equivalent in the subject area.

Current license, certification, or credentials as required by local, state, or federal laws, excluding instructors teaching non-core (e.g., general education) courses.

Experience with course management systems like Blackboard (preferred).

Familiarity with online instruction techniques (preferred).

Proficiency in software applications including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, video conferencing tools, and other internet-based applications.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.
