This role collaborates with production, engineering, and sales teams to champion continuous improvement and maintain compliance with quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance: Develop and implement quality control plans, procedures, and inspection processes.
Process Optimization: Collaborate with production and engineering teams to optimize assembly processes, reduce defects, and improve overall product quality.
Non-Conformance Management: Lead investigations into quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions to resolve issues and prevent recurrence.
Compliance: Ensure all processes, products, and documentation comply with regulatory requirements, customer specifications, and industry standards.
Customer Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for customer quality concerns, ensuring timely resolution and maintaining strong client relationships.
Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives such as Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to improve quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Root Cause Analysis: Investigate non-conformances, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address quality issues.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of quality inspections, test results, and compliance documentation, ensuring traceability and adherence to industry standards.
Supplier Quality: Work with suppliers to ensure incoming hydraulic components meet quality requirements, conducting supplier audits as needed.
Training: Train production staff in quality standards, inspection techniques, and best practices to foster a culture of quality.
Data Analysis: Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends, recommend improvements, and report on quality performance to management.
Customer Support: Address customer quality concerns and ensure timely resolution of issues.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 2-5 years of experience in quality engineering, preferably in a manufacturing or assembly environment. Experience with fluid power components is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of quality control methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, ISO 9001).
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Familiarity with inspection tools and techniques (e.g., calipers, gauges, CMM).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams.
- Proficiency in quality management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently or in a team environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the production floor for extended periods.
- Occasional lifting of components or materials up to 25 pounds.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery and hydraulic equipment.
In accordance with applicable wage transparency law requirements, the typical estimated total compensation for this position is $90k-$100k depending on experience, including potential bonus opportunities. Bonus amounts can be tied to company, location and/or individual performance, but no specific amount is guaranteed.
