Summary
Job Summary: Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: performs specimen analysis following established procedures to provide data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease, ensuring validity and accuracy of test results; collects and analyze blood and its morphology using hematologic and microscopic technique and performs various coagulation analysis; conduct examination of urine and other body fluids to determine the presence of normal and abnormal components; perform blood group, type, and compatibility testing for transfusion purposes; perform and operate a variety of microbiological and bacteriological procedure to examine and identify bacteria and other microorganisms; prepare and process blood specimen and other body fluids for chemical, immunologic, and serologic testing; verify, release and record findings through laboratory information system and report critical values to physicians; perform proficiency testing; perform and document equipment and machine maintenance, calibration, quality control and other troubleshooting methods; maintain patient confidentiality regarding their diagnostic tests and complies with legal rules, regulations and procedures of the laboratory. Requirements: Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or Public Health and 2 years of experience. Requires American Society of Clinical Pathology Certification.
