Job Summary

Working under supervision performs basic to intermediate troubleshooting, maintenance, configuration, moves, adds and changes of LAN, WAN, routers, switches, Legacy PBX, IP Telephony Systems, Wireless Systems and Security Systems. Provides technical investigation for all Prisma Health customers to isolate issues and develop strategies to restore or activate services. Provides support for Network Engineers and Sr. Network Engineers to complete projects, upgrades, and troubleshoot network and telephony systems. Participates in On-Call rotation and after hour cutover support. Handles incidents, problems and requests within the defined Prisma Health IT service level agreements.

Accountabilities

• Performs adds, moves, and changes to support all facilities within Prisma Health. - 25%
• Interfaces with IS management personnel in coordinating network and telecommunications hardware, software, and system capabilities. - 10%
• Ensure the physical facilities of the area of responsibility are maintained in proper condition and that all spaces are clean and free from safety hazards. - 5%
• Maintains department records, reports, and files as required and assists in preparing reports by compiling information. - 10%
• Monitors the operation of the telecommunications and network systems and services of the vendors. - 10%
• Inspects telecommunications and network equipment for damage, makes simple repairs or returns to vendors for replacement. - 10%
• Receives, resolves, and documents user problems and requests relating to network environment within required time frames. - 20%
• Interacts with Network Engineers to assist and learn in Network Technologies. - 10%

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

• This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.

Minimum Requirements

• Associate's Degree- Information Technology, Telecommunication, Networking, Computer Science, or closely related field.
• 2 years- Field support taking care of telecommunication assets or networks.  Network experience to include VoIP, LAN/WAN, Network Infrastructure, Cisco switches, routers, and wireless Access Points, TCP/IP

In Lieu Of The Minimum Requirements Listed Above

• In lieu of the educational and experience requirements listed above, a High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years of experience in Field support taking care of telecommunication assets or networks,  Network experience to include Legacy PBX Systems, Cisco IP Telephony, LAN/WAN, Network Infrastructure, Cisco switches, routers, and wireless, TCP/IP; OR a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Technology or directly related field may be considered. In lieu of experience, the CCT (Cisco Certified Technician) may be substituted for 1 year of experience (i.e. Assoc + CCT + 1 year experience OR HS + CCT + 3 years experience).
