Description

  • Implement/enforce company safety and training programs to ensure employees and maintenance shops are in compliance with federal/state/local laws and corporate policies
  • Implement/enforce standard operating procedures for maintenance inspections performed in shops 
  • Provide leadership/direction to shop managers/supervisors/lead mechanics/mechanics/Registered Inspectors on how to perform detailed and compliant inspections 
  • Responsible for tracking due dates and performing all Registered Inspector Training within their region
  • Collaborate with maintenance team to reduce CSA maintenance scores when applicable 
  • Monitor and upkeep training records for all Registered Inspectors within region
  • Upkeep of the FMCSA Website for accuracy 
  • Attend and pass recertification training for Train the Trainer every 3 years
  • Work with the DOT Compliance Department to address and resolve any audit concerns 
  • Perform regular internal Audits on all HazMat Shops within region
  • Stay current on any FMCSA or 49 CFR Regulations and adjust training documents accordingly 
  • Develop effective working relationships with Regional Fleet Managers and other support groups within the organization 
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Education

  • High School Diploma Required 
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred 
  • Registered Inspector Certifications

 

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities (Competencies)

  • 5 years of shop training experience
  • Customer service
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge
  • TMT knowledge
  • P&L management
  • Training experience
  • Knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations
  • Frequent travel required

Supervisory Responsibility: 

Train and assess the performance of shop managers/supervisors and lead mechanics as it applies to our HM Program within the geographic region specified. Assist in resolution of performance problems related to Inspections.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position, and days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Travel: Frequent travel to company shops within geographic regions specified.
