Description
Serves at the Navigator for all oncology patients and is the primary contact person. Is proficient in the care of patients with a past, current, or potential diagnosis of cancer.
The Oncology Nurse Navigator (ONN) has oncology clinical knowledge and offers individualized assistance to patients, families, and caregivers to assist with overcoming healthcare system barriers. The ONN provides education and resources to allow the patient to make decisions and receive quality health and psychosocial care through the different phases of cancer continuum.
RN Oncology Nurse Navigator
- Current CA State licensure as a Registered Nurse required.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
- Minimum of 3 years working in Oncology related field or in the process of obtaining Oncology Nurse Navigator Certified Generalist (ONN-CG) certificate required.
- Three years of direct navigation experience preferred.
- Experience working with electronic health records, Microsoft Word and Power Point.
