The position of Payroll Specialist will be based out of our Dallas, TX location!

Summary

The role of Payroll Specialist II requires advanced knowledge of the end-to-end payroll cycle to include experience with the State of California. Hands-on experience with the various inputs and outputs such as third-party interfaces, timekeeping, garnishments, tax filing/compliance, accounting, benefits, and other key areas that integrate with payroll is essential. This role will interact daily with the client as well as internal business partners.

 

Essential Responsibilities

 

  • Execute payroll cycles and associated payroll programs  timely and accurately
  • Conduct pre and post payroll reconciliation and provide final sign-off to exit
  • Perform complex analysis of payroll  issues that may impact a single employee or groups of employees to  determine root cause and implement sustainable solutions
  • Work closely with other business  areas (tax, benefits, IT, etc.) to ensure seamless end-to-end execution
  • Provide guidance/assistance to  Payroll Specialists and Service Center agents as needed
  • Facilitate requirements gathering  for change order requests, conduct required testing, and provide final review  of complex systems changes or system enhancements related to payroll services
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with client  contacts and key business partners

 

Skills, Knowledge, and Education

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of five (5) years hands-on payroll processing experience with a large size company of 6,000 employees
  • Previous experience/proven ability to accurately and timely complete all payroll processing responsibilities for 800 to 1,500 employees
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC), or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Excellent multi-tasking capabilities while maintaining organization and meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong computer skills in word processing and spreadsheet software.  Demonstrates proficiency using a personal computer (PC), company communication tools (e.g. email, internet), and Microsoft products (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • ADP experience preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Excellent customer service skills

Ability to write and read routine reports or job orders. Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees within the organization.

Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations required to accurately complete assigned tasks.
