Summary:
The Waste/Recycling Associate is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the distribution center and surrounding facilities such exterior docks and breakrooms in accordance to local health and safety standards.
What You'll Do:
- Contribute to a culture and environment focused daily on employee safety and a safe work environment. Assume responsibility for immediately addressing safety concerns
- Perform general cleaning and sanitation related job tasks in the distribution center
- Operate a pallet jack, forklift, and stand-up reach truck to transport refuse/trash to appropriate receptacles
- General cleaning duties include, but are not limited to: sweeping, dusting, mopping, trash pickup, sorting and load pallets, and use of cardboard baler and trash compactor
- Follow all safety rules and completes all duties as assigned per business need
- Complete all work according to company health and safety policies and guidelines
- Report all unsafe conditions or unsafe acts immediately to ensure safety of all associates
- Report any damage to electronic hardware, work machines, pipe racks, or the Distribution Center immediately to a supervisor
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
High School or GED - Preferred
- Must be willing to be trained on all the following material handling equipment: Forklifts, stand-up reach truck, High-Reach Narrow-Aisle, Stand-Up Rider pallet Jack that conform to OSHA safety training requirements. Training will be provided by the company as needed
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize assignments
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work effectively individually and with a team
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work overtime as needed

For the state of California only, the pay range is $21.00 to $23.00, depending upon qualifications, experience, and other considerations permitted by law. Commission/Bonus Plan: Platt Distribution Center Bonus Plan
