Richardson Oilseed Products U.S., a division of Richardson International operates a state-of-the-art oil packaging facility in Memphis, TN where it refines and packages one of the United States' most recognized brands of canola and vegetable cooking oils, Wesson Oil.

Richardson Oilseed is one of Canada's oldest and largest fully-integrated oilseed processing and packaging operations with four facilities across the U.S. and Canada. In addition to producing bulk canola oil and meal, our food products division produces a wide variety of canola-based margarines, oils and shortenings for the industrial, retail and food service markets.
Working with Richardson opens the door to a world of possibility. We currently have an opportunity for a Boiler Operator at our Memphis, TN facility.
Responsibilities:
Understand and comply with all workplace health and safety requirements, company policies and procedures and general workplace rules
Participate in the day to day health and safety program by working in a safe manner at all times:
Always using the required personal protective equipment
Ensuring that authorized work is completed safely
Utilizing required controls to prevent risk of exposure to hazards
Participating actively in incident investigations, training, and other health and safety initiatives
Reporting all unsafe acts and conditions and all incidents, near misses and workplace injuries/illnesses as per company procedure
Record City of Memphis and plant well water, gas and electric readings at the plant and provide to EHS department on a daily basis
Complete water sample for the round and square pool each shift
Monitor reading on the compressor and boiler
Maintain and monitor brine tank
Preventative maintenance on equipment such as blowing down the boiler each shift
Operate and monitor all refinery and related processing equipment and control systems
Perform physical checks and troubleshoot equipment and systems to identify and correct issues
Ensure each process is operated within the given range of parameters
Complete all logs and related paperwork in a timely, accurate and professional manner
Sample at given intervals and perform related actions
Assist in basic preventative maintenance procedures of equipment and basic general housekeeping standards
Regular preventative maintenance as assigned
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Must possess a current Memphis and Shelby County First Class Steam Licence
Must be able to work a flexible work schedule and overtime when needed
Able to read, write, and communicate effectively
Understand instruction and follow direction
Work in a primarily in a warm to hot environment
3-5 years previous maintenance manufacturing experience or combination of technical school and experience to equate same
Knowledgeable and previous troubleshooting and repair experience with water tube boilers, air compressors, compressed air dryers and demineralizers
Must be able to work in an industrial plant environment, good communication skills (both written and oral) are essential
SAP experience is considered an asset
High School diploma or GED required
