This ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, experienced non-profit professional who will provide accounting support for a high-transaction, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.# The primary functions of this position are cash deposits and postings, billing and accounts receivable, grants and contracts accounting, and general ledger support.# Among other duties, this position will also assist with weekly transactions, month-end closings, and audit support.# The candidate will work collaboratively with the programs team on contracts and grants, outpatient staff and other departments at River Valley to ensure fiscal excellence agency-wide. This position reports to the Accounting Manager with direct support to the Finance Director. # OVERVIEW OF MAJOR DUTIES # RESPONSIBILITIES Grant Accounting and Accounts Receivable Grants # contracts invoicing, reconciliation and reporting Tracking AR and posting of payments and recording of related revenue Maintain schedules for state, federal and local reporting with monthly reconciliation schedules Maintain complete and accurate billing files Work closely with staff, management and funders on resolving any discrepancies or financial questions or concerns Maintain AR aging, follow up with outstanding balances Serve as financial liaison with external agencies # Cash Maintain daily cash log and reporting to management and billing consultants Timely and accurate recording of cash deposits Accurate recording of AR payments Perform monthly bank reconciliations # General Accounting Support Accurately post and maintain entries to the general ledger as assigned Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts on a routine basis Maintain asset and depreciation schedules Maintain prepaid accounts through monthly amortization of prepaid expenses Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements Assist Accounting Manager and Finance Director with operational issues and special projects Assist with external audits, annual UFR filings, and SEFA reporting Other duties as assigned # EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS Education: Bachelor Degree in Accounting, preferred but not required.
