Summary

RNDC is looking for talented and energetic Branch Manager I to join our growing On Premise/Retail team. A Branch Manager is responsible for the physical inventory of a distribution location. This position is considered a developmental role in preparation for management of a larger market or business unit. Directs production, distribution, and marketing operations for branch facilities by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors by performing the following duties.  

 

In this role, you will
  • Responsible for facility security and maintenance. Reviews operations of competing organizations and plans and directs sales program to develop new markets. 
  • Selects and assigns department personnel as required to meet the established departmental operating schedules, ensuring those all-departmental commitments for product receiving, truck loading and delivery services are met. 
  • Ensures that established documentation procedures are followed to maintain timely, accurate control of sales orders; that approved will calls and SPA orders are accurately filled and made available for pickup in a timely manner and that documentation of all completed orders are forwarded to the accounting department in an accurate and timely manner. 
  • Ensures that un-saleable items, undelivered orders, and other products are properly handled, controlled, and accounted for in an accurate and timely manner. Manages field sales activities of the company to achieve company sales and profit objectives. 
  • Is responsible for the direct supervision, training, and safe operations of all delivery drivers; ensures that all delivery activities are conducted in keeping with the best customer relations, documentation, and safety requirements; and that delivery activity is performed in compliance with federal, state, local, and insurance guidelines. 
  • Establishes, recommends, and implements strategies, objectives, policies and plans for the company's sales and profit objectives. Manages the activities of sales staff and managerial personnel. Directs the company field sales staff in achieving planned quotas. 
  • Travels the company's sales territories to monitor field activities and gain perspective of current market conditions. Develops and maintains relationships within the marketplace. 
  • Manages up to a total of 30 employees in the areas of Operations and Sales and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units in the branch location. May also directly supervise non-supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university preferred; or five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous sales management experience with an alcoholic beverage wholesaler or supplier required. 

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. 

Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. 

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. 

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of accounting, database, Internet, order processing systems, spreadsheet, and word processing software. 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations 

  • Requires a current, valid state driver's license 
  • Ability to meet vehicle insurance requirements as defined by the Company. 
  • Alcohol Beverage Commission (ABC) License, as required by the state (i.e., TABC License – Texas) 

Other Requirements 

  • Ability to regularly operate a motor vehicle. 
  • Spanish bilingual abilities preferred.
