Organization Overview
The Cohen lab consists of 15 lab members (Research Assistants, Graduate Students, and Postdocs) studying the molecular basis of obesity-associated diseases. Our studies focus on the biology of white and brown adipose tissue and span from basic molecular and cell biology to whole animal physiology and human subjects.
Overview
The Research Assistant will assist in and oversee experiments involving animal phenotyping (metabolic analyses including indirect calorimetry) and bench work such as molecular biology and biochemistry. The Research Assistant will also be responsible for lab operations including ordering, budgeting, and maintenance of equipment.

- Bench work including molecular biology and biochemistry techniques
- Animal colony maintenance and phenotyping
- Lab management activities including ordering supplies and maintaining equipment
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree
- Working with animal models, cell culture, molecular biology and biochemistry techniques
Preferred:
- Previous experience in metabolic phenotyping in animal models (glucose and insulin tolerance tests, indirect calorimetry) and cells (respiration, viral transduction)
- Previous experience with ordering laboratory supplies

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on various factors, including but not limited to organizational budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The hiring range provided represents The Rockefeller University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Compensation Range: Min
USD $50,000.00/Yr.
Compensation Range: Max
USD $55,000.00/Yr.
