Title: Advanced Practice Provider

Regular Company: Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center Department: Breast Surgery Time Type: Full time Weekly Hours: 40 FTE: 1 Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Summary: Independent management of High Risk breast patients. Performs all duties of the Advanced Practice Provider I.
Provides float and cross coverage within other service lines, as requested.
Performs advanced procedures and surgical assisting (i.e. Robotic, central lines).
Performs new patient consults independently, as needed.
Reviews new patient referrals, determines appropriate disease site and patient's timing of schedule and whether additional information needs to be obtained prior to or upon visit.
Performs clinic preparation including template management; reviews diagnostic imaging and lab work.
Identifies the learning needs of nursing, ancillary clinical staff, providers, and students.
Educates clinical staff including nursing, residents, fellows, and other healthcare interns and students.
Acts as a mentor for healthcare students and new employees.
Provides consultation to community groups and professional groups.
Participates in multidisciplinary clinical research activities, clinical trials, and acts as a patient advocate.
Participates in quality improvement projects such as chart reviews and mortality reviews.
Presents patients at multidisciplinary conference.
Contributes to the advance practice professions through publications, educating, committee involvement, and development of educational materials or creative approaches to improve patient care.
May perform all duties in a mobile environment including travel and overnight stays.
Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety and compliance standards.
Enhances professional growth and development by participating in educational programs, reading current literature, and participating in in-service meetings and workshops.
Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the department; maintains, distributes, analyzes and projects information for required records, reports and statistics as directed.
Attends meetings as required.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

The starting salary for this position is $124.614 and there is an additional geographic differential of $8,510. This can include a full comprehensive benefits package. Qualifications: Required Education and Experience

Nurse Practitioner Educational Path:
1. License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York; and
2. Current New York State Nurse Practitioner certification; and
3. Certification or eligibility for certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or other national certifying body recognized by Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA); and
4. Master's or higher-level degree in Nursing.
NOTE:
As a condition of continued employment, incumbents must obtain certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or other national certifying body recognized by Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) within nine (9) months of their appointment to this title as required by Medicare.

OR

Physician Assistant Educational Path:
1. License to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of New York; and
2. Certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission for Certification of Physicians Assistants (NCCPA) or other national certifying body recognized by the New York State Education Department; and
3. Bachelor's or higher-level degree in Physician Assistant Studies; or
4. Bachelor's or higher-level degree and completion of a Physician Assistant Certificate Program recognized by the New York State Education Department.

AND
Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant Educational Path:
The equivalent of two (2) years of full-time progressively responsible Advanced Practice Provider experience in a service line at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center or at a cancer care or acute care facility recognized as comparable by Roswell Park.

NOTE:
1. As a condition of continued employment, incumbents must obtain and maintain certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within six (6) months of their appointment to this title.
2. Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
