Regular Company: Roswell Park Cancer Institute Department: Pharmacology & Therapeutics Time Type: Full time Weekly Hours: 40 FTE: 1 Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Summary: Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center (RPCCC), an NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in Buffalo, NY, invites applications for faculty positions at the Assistant Professor level in the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics (P&T).

The Department is seeking to expand the scientific scope of its expertise, broadly, in cancer biology, cancer metastasis, drug development, therapy resistance, pharmacogenomics, and translational studies. Candidates should have a Ph.D or comparable degree in biomedical research and/or clinical science. Ideal candidates for these positions will have an established track record of externally-funded research or the strong potential to develop one. A commitment to graduate-level advising, mentoring, and teaching is required. This position also requires a commitment to scientific and administrative activities in the department and institute, disease site translational research groups (TRG), and the Cancer Center Support Grant programmatic activities.

Salary range is $201,355-$370,096 which includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Laboratory space will be located in a modern 300,000 sq. ft. Life Sciences Complex, which includes the NY State Center for Excellence in Bioinformatics. In this multidisciplinary research environment, the candidate will have access to numerous additional core facilities, the opportunity to interact with scientists and clinicians from many programs and departments, and the ability to conduct patient-oriented translational research in collaboration with clinicians.

RPCCC, the nation's first cancer center founded in 1898, has made fundamental contributions to reducing the cancer burden and has successfully maintained a leadership role in setting national standards for cancer care, research, and education. The mission of the P&T Department is to identify novel therapeutic targets, develop and clinically translate novel anti-cancer therapeutics and therapeutic combinations, and elucidate mechanisms underlying therapy response and resistance. The department currently consists of a multidisciplined faculty studying cellular, genetic and epigenetic mechanisms of tumor development, progression and therapy resistance (https://www.roswellpark.org/research/departments/pharmacology-therapeutics). faculty are part of, and interact extensively with, the 4 CCSG science programs
(https://www.roswellpark.org/research/ccsg-research-programs), particularly, the Developmental Therapeutics (DT) program. Qualifications: Required Education and Experience

Doctoral degree in an appropriate scientific or clinical-based discipline and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time experience in an applicable scientific or clinicresearch environment.

Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
