Title: Clinical Informatics Pharmacist

Regular Company: Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center Department: Information Technology Time Type: Full time Weekly Hours: 40 FTE: 1 Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Summary: Serves as an expert in clinical pharmacy practice, medication safety processes and the use of technology to optimize care delivery processes; communicates patient care activity effectively; specializes in the medication process from ordering to administration; assumes responsibility for effective process design, development and implementation of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), Pharmacy Information Systems Clinical Decision Support and any auxiliary information systems that impact safe and efficacious medication delivery; supports pharmacists, physicians, nurses and other clinicians as the resource for requests related to the enterprise EMR changes and additions; demonstrates independent decision making as appropriate in evaluation of requests for system improvements and determines feasibility and advisability of system changes; works closely with clinicians, departmental leadership, Quality Improvement, Patient Safety, Accreditation and Licensure Departments and Information Systems staff to clarify needs and prioritize requests; designs workflow to fit with electronic systems and execute change; facilitates adaptation to the EMR. Qualifications: Required Education and Experience

License Requirement
License to practice as a Registered Pharmacist in the State of New York.
Education and Experience
1. Doctor of Pharmacy degree and the equivalent of three (3) years of full-time hospital pharmacy experience; or
2. Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy and the equivalent of five (5) years of full-time hospital pharmacy experience.

NOTE:
1. Successful completion of a pharmacy practice residency may be substituted for the equivalent of three (3) full-time hospital pharmacy experience years that are required in “1” or “2” above.
2. Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Knowledge of Healthcare IT

2. Knowledge of Pharmacy Workflows

3. Experience in Requirements Gathering

4. Experience in Test Plans/ Procedures

5. Understanding of Information Security Best Practices

6. Programming Knowledge/ Experience

7. Knowledge of Pharmacy and other HIT applications

8. Experience with Medication Safety Practices
