Title: Patient Care Technician - Evening Shift

Regular Company: Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center Department: Nursing - 6 East Time Type: Full time Weekly Hours: 40 FTE: 1 Shift: Second Shift (United States of America) Summary: The Patient Care Assistant plays a vital role in supporting nurses and therapists by providing both direct and indirect patient care. Responsibilities include safely transporting patients throughout the organization and assisting with patient flow to ensure a smooth clinical experience. This role also involves handling various support tasks such as delivering and retrieving X-rays, supplies, mail, and other essential items. In addition, the Patient Care Assistant contributes to maintaining high standards by supporting quality assurance and improvement activities within the clinic. Qualifications: Required Education and Experience

1. High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time direct patient experience; or
2. High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of three (3) years of full-time experience in a healthcare setting; or
3. High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of three (3) years of full-time face-to-face customer service experience; or
4. Matriculation in a Nursing Program.

NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.

Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred candidates will be currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program and actively pursuing a nursing degree. Experience as a current or former employee of Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is highly valued, as is the completion of a clinical rotation at Roswell Park as part of a nursing program. Candidates with prior experience working as a Patient Care Technician (PCT) in an acute care hospital setting are strongly preferred. Additionally, applicants with at least one year of experience as a PCT or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) are encouraged to apply.
